“Don’t cry because it’s over

– smile because it happened”

I knew that eventually I would have to write this letter but I didn’t know it would hurt so much to do. As of December 13, 2008 I am retiring from running the All My Children Fan Club and the One Life To Live Fan Club. After 20 years of fan clubbing it has come time for me to hand the clubs over to others.

These years have been fun, crazy, overwhelming, exhausting, exciting, and the time of my life. To love daytime so much and to have the chance to be in the midst of it was a dream come true. I wanted to start thanking people but I was afraid I might miss someone so I will give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this journey as delightful as it has been.

I have chosen Diane Casale to run the One Life To Live Fan Club. I could not have picked a better person. She has been a participant of our clubs with articles for over 15 years.

I have chosen AnneMarie Donelin to run the All My Children Fan Club. Her passion and devotion to the show rivals mine.

They both share the same love of daytime and I know that they will continue to run the clubs in the way that will be fun for everyone, fans and cast alike.

Diane can be reached at dcasaleoltlfc@aol.com or www.oltlfanclub.com or 908-721-1912 or 601 Salem Road, Union, NJ 07083.

AnneMarie can be reached at amcfanclub@ymail.com or www.amcfanclub.com or 1516 Ohm Ave., Bronx, NY 10465 or 917-355-1505.

Wendy Madore has agreed to work on both sites as their webmistress so we know that part of the fan clubs will also be in good hands.

I have watched the ABC soaps for over 44 years and will continue to do so in the future. The memories that I take with me are memories I will treasure my whole life.  My husband, two sons and two daughters-in-law, along with my many friends, have given me the support that has made a labor of love that turned into an almost full time job a pleasure to do.

Good bye and God bless you all. Thank you for giving me so many wonderful memories. Gosh, I miss you already.

Fondly,

Carol Dickson

Carol,

We want to thank you and recognize all of the incredible work you have done for the past 18 years on behalf of "All My Children" and the past 20 years on behalf of "One Life to Live." You were a passionate and loyal ambassador for the fans and our shows. It was always nice to know that you were there to lead the way for our fans. We look forward to continuing your good works with AnneMarie and Diane.

Thank you for your endless commitment to both fan clubs. Your knowledge, professionalism and enthusiasm enriched everyone. It is obvious how much you love these shows, and we, in return, love you for it.

"One Life to Live thanks Carol for her dedication to the show and our very loyal fans.  We wish her luck as she embarks on this new chapter of her life and we thank her for her 20 years of enthusiastic support for OLTL."—Frank Valentini

"Carol, Thank you for all your hard work and loving dedication to "All My Children."  Your constant support will always be valued.  The AMC family wishes you the best for the future."—Julie Carruthers

*This week marks 15 years that Kassie Wesley DePaiva has been playing Blair on One Life To Live.  We have made a very special guest book that we want her to read the week of December 11.  Please take the time and drop Kassie a note to let her know what she has meant to us all these years.  She just keeps getting better with age.

*As previously reported actor Brett Claywell of One Tree Hill Fame was slated to play Schuyler, the
new teacher at Llanview High, but now it appears things may have changed, seems the role of
Schuyler now belongs to Scott Clifton (Dillon GH), and Brett will still be a part of OLTL and will join
The LPD, both are slated to air in early January*

*Brett Claywell formerly of One Tree Hill (Tim), has been cast as Schuyler, a new teacher at Llanview High, and is slated to start airing in early January*

*OLTL Bad Boy David Vickers played by fan favorite Tuc Watkins, will once again make his much delighted return to Llanview in late December! Maybe he will finally learn his true fate as being the lost  Buchanan heir?

*As previously reported Andrea Evans (Tina), was planning to exit Llanview, and now it is confirmed, her last air date is Nov. 25

*Finally the date is set, Paris Texas lovebirds Noelle and Moe played by January LaVoy and John Rue, will make their surprise appearance back in Llanview on 12/1

*Nathaniel Marston (ex Michael) will be making a guest appearance on Law & Order SVU. He just wrapped up the taping on October 27, and the episode is slated to air on December 2

*A. Martinez is done with his 5 week stint as Ray Montez, however it is rumored that the character may return somewhere down the road.

* Did you know that character Berry Neil who played the jewelry appraiser involved with Tina & Caine is none-other than ESPN's Matthew Berry, the senior director of fantasy sports?

* There will be some good music in Llanview for a New Year's Eve bash that was recently taped. Alternative rock band Puddle of Mudd will ring in 2009 at Ultra Violet.

* Actress Andrea Evans (Tina) has started a new soap line, Soap for Hope, in which she features different soap gift sets, proceeds go to City of Hope to help research for the treatment of cancer as well as other life threatening diseases.

*Melissa Archer [Natalie] has re-signed a new contract so we can still get to enjoy the couple of Natalie and Jared.

*Rumor has it that January LaVoy [Noelle] and John Rue [Moe] will be turning up in Llanview soon. Pecan pie for everyone!

*Joining A Martinez [Ray] is Jacqueline Hendy as his wife Vanessa.

*Also coming to Llanview is Camila Banus, who will be the town's newest teen tart Lola! Don't you just love the name since it seems to fit what she will be portraying.

*The storyline of "So You Think You Can Be Shane Morasco's Father" was another brilliant comedy twist which was interplayed wonderfully with the in-your-face drama of Rex's struggle to live. It looked like a scene from "Grey's Anatomy" when the operating table showed so much blood but it did lend a lot more reality to it. It was also great to see Ty Treadway [ex-Colin] and Jessica Morris [ex-Jen] back during this storyline.

*Video of Blair singing "IF YOU KNEW MY HEART"
OLTL 9-04-08

Kassie co-wrote this song with her friend singer songwriter Jaime Kyle just for John and Blair.

Email her and tell her what you think.
Kassie's email is kassie@kassiedepaiva.com

*Blair Cramer and Kassie DePaiva have a lot in common. No, not the five-marriages-to-the-same-person thing (Kassie's been married to former co-star James DePaiva [Max] since 1996) -- they look alike (duh) ... and they both sing! Well, Blair sings because Kassie does.

On Thursday's episode of "
One Life to Live," Blair will pick up the mic at Capricorn (as she does every now and then; she owns the place and moonlights as the singer). She'll sing a song called "If You Knew My Heart"; it was co-written by Kassie herself! She totally sings it to Blair's new love interest, John.

In case you haven't heard, Kassie has a music career outside of Blair's occasional singing. She's made three albums: "Naked," "No Regrets," and "I Want to Love You." You can learn more about them
here. She's kind of prolific -- she once sang at the Grand Ole Opry!

Final Performance of Broadway's Rent to Be Seen Nationwide
By Andrew Gans

The final performance of the Pulitzer and Tony-winning musical RENT, scheduled for Sept. 7 at the Nederlander Theatre, will be filmed for future screenings in movie theatres around the country. The filming is part of a new business venture launched by Sony Pictures Releasing, which is entitled The Hot Ticket.

The Hot Ticket, according to a press release, will "distribute event programming, including popular music concerts, the performing arts, and sporting events in high definition digital projection to select movie theaters nationwide." In addition to the final performance, the Rent filming will also "feature special closing night extras, when original cast members of the Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical are expected to join and celebrate in the farewell festivities." Screening dates have yet to be announced, although Hot Ticket presentations will be shown in strictly limited engagements in 2K and 4K digital theatres. The Hot Ticket series will also film "Delirium," a Cirque du Soleil production that is currently touring Europe. In a statement Sony Pictures Releasing president Roy Bruer said, "Going to your favorite theater doesn't mean just going to the movies anymore. Audiences everywhere enjoy sharing special events with their friends and family in public places – it's just not the same at home. Our mandate will be to identify the one-of-a-kind and sold-out events that people around the country most want to see and we will work to present them to audiences everywhere. With the very best in special event programming and state-of-the-art digital projection and sound in theaters, The Hot Ticket will offer the kind of unparalleled, access that will make these events memorable viewing experiences."

RENT, which has book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson, is the seventh longest running show in Broadway history. The New York Rent company currently features Will Chase as Roger, Adam Kantor as Mark, Michael McElroy as Collins, Justin Johnston as Angel, Rodney Hicks as Benny, Tamyra Gray as Mimi and Merle Dandridge as Joanne with Caren Lyn Manuel, Tracy McDowell, Marcus Paul James, Maia Nkenge Wilson, Jay Wilkison, Telly Leung, Shaun Earl and Andrea Goss. Eden Espinosa will make her Rent debut as Maureen May 30; Renée Elise Goldsberry will join the Broadway cast June 16 as Mimi. The musical went on to win every major best musical award, including the Tony Award, New York Drama Critics Circle Award, Drama Desk Award, and the Outer Critics Circle Award. *It wasn't enough for Snoop Dogg to act and perform on One Life to Live (in episodes airing May 8-9). The Grammy-winning rapper wanted to bring his special touch to it in one other way: remixing the theme song. ''I loved the Peabo Bryson version of the song. That was dope to me,'' Snoop told EW.com. ''I just wanted to give it a new twist. I felt like it needed something to represent where we are now. I feel like every decade has a certain time to change the music, and we need to change it right now.''

*Soap opera to be filmed on boardwalk

SEASIDE HEIGHTS — Filming for the soap opera "One Life To Live" is scheduled for the week of April 14 at popular Seaside Heights boardwalk spots including Casino Pier, Lucky's Arcade and Pizza, and lifeguard headquarters.
The director and producers have discussed the
possibility of a casting call for local extras, but no decision has been made.
The drama is about to begin in Seaside Heights.
The long-running soap opera "One Life To Live" will be filmed along the beach and boardwalk in April, at popular spots such as Casino Pier, lifeguard headquarters, and Lucky's Arcade and Pizza.
The borough is no stranger to film crews, providing the "beach house" for MTV's "Summer Share" in 1998 and 2002, as well as scenes for the YES Network and Nickelodeon.
"It's very exciting because it's a national show and a national network," said Peter Smith, borough director of public relations, as the director and producers visited the boardwalk Tuesday to scout out locations for filming.
"Even MTV doesn't have this kind of audience," he said, adding that he's been a fan of the show for 20 years.
Smith said he believes Kristen Alderson, who plays Starr Manning on the show, may be among the actors coming to the borough.
Suzanne Flynn, a senior producer for the show, said the crew probably will film the week of April 14 at sites such as Lucky's, the beach house and by the water.
Although she could not reveal the actors who will come or the plot, she said the episode, which airs in May, will involve "one of our favorite couples on the show."
"Seaside Heights was definitely friendly and looks the best," Flynn said, adding that the location was chosen from several shore spots, and it is supposed to be somewhere near Virginia Beach, Va., on the show.
"Viewers will realize that there's a big finish to a story line that's been going on a long time. It's a big event that will affect lives, and we're putting the characters in the real world."
Roger Mooney, the production designer, was filming different locations on the boardwalk as the crew walked around.
"Seaside Heights has a wonderful character look to it. When you're looking at the ocean, it's a great panoramic view, "he said. "There's an alley of stores, and it turns into this almost sculpture of amusement park and rides. There's such strong images."
Mike Graichen, owner of Lucky's Arcade and Pizza for 40 years, said his arcade has been used for other shows, and Skee-Ball games are often a popular feature.
"You can't beat the publicity," he said, adding that Lucky's is often chosen because "it's a legend."
Director Larry Carpenter and producer John Tumino said they filmed scenes for an episode at Island Beach State Park around 2006 and visited Seaside Heights.
"We came here for fried Oreos, and I said, "We have to go back to the place with the Oreos,' " joked Carpenter, who described the borough's boardwalk as "great."
Toby Wolf, advertising manager for Casino Pier, said games and rides on the pier have been filmed in the past, and the filming of "One Life to Live" will not affect the operation of rides because it will be done in the off-season.
"It's a fun, off-season thing to do. Something like this might be a little bit larger-scale than anything we've done in the past," she said.
The producers said union member extras would be brought in for the filming, but were discussing the possibility of an open casting call to the public.

*John Cunningham will appear on the show this week as Walter Honeycutt who will help Clint and Bo with their Buchanan Enterprise takeover problems.

*Renee Elise Goldsberry [ex-Evangeline] is back on television on Fox’s new comedy titled “The Return Of Jezebel James.” It debuts on March 14th.
